2021 Allbaer Là Haut Sangiovese | Templeton Gap, Paso Robles California 750ml

This Sangiovese is particularly near and dear to me. I had never worked with this grape professionally. None of my mentors grew or fermented the stuff. Our initial few releases have been opulent and rich - something I attribute to my understanding of Grenache. While I don't find this to be the wrong approach, I've found Sangiovese benefits from freshness and liveliness. The 2021 Sangiovese is all varietal and comes from the Solana Vineyard. Ripe black cherries, wild strawberries, sandalwood, and white pepper give way to a medium to full-bodied Sangiovese that has a layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, nicely integrated tannins, and a great finish.
