Based on 83% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Cabernet Franc raised in 80% new French oak, the 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Curiositas has a textbook Cabernet nose of pure creme de cassis, redcurrants, crushed stone, and lead pencil shavings, with some background, building minerality. Full-bodied on the palate, it has a seamless, elegant mouthfeel, good mid-palate depth, and a clean finish. Like many 2020s, it's more streamlined and narrow on the palate and finish but is clearly an outstanding bottle of wine. | 94 points, Jeb Dunnuck for jebdunnuck.comThe Walls 2020 Curiositas Cabernet Sauvignon was fermented in concrete and stainless steel tanks. Native yeast with cold soaks for up to 5 days. Macerations up to 40+ days. 100% free-run. Aged in 75% new French oak large format vessels. This is our flagship Cabernet Sauvignon from a selection of vineyards in the Red Mountain AVA. It provides a nice contrast to the Bellamy, which is from Walla Walla Valley in that it is more structured and powerful on the nose and palate. 575 cases produced. | The Walls Vineyards
